Starting The Year Off On The Right Foot With Your ELLs

Hi Spartans!  It is TIPS TUESDAYChristine and I will be sending out an ELL Tips email once or twice a month with some helpful reminders/tips/ideas/strategies for ALL our Spartan students.  Not only will these be great ideas for our ELLs but "ALL" of our students.  Every student here is an "Academic Language Learner". Hope you find the Tips useful and if you ever have suggestions of topics or ideas you want to know more about, let us know and we will add it to our list of Tip Topics.

These 2 attached infographics provide a strong foundation for not only encouraging participation by "ALL" and ELL students but also help lower the affective filter for creating new ideas and confidence in the classroom.

"It takes between 1-2 years for ELL students to acquire social language, but between 7-9 years to acquire academic language."  (ELLs in the Classroom)

"Sometimes students don't have a voice to participate. Give students a voice." (27 ways to increase participation)
